December 1 marks the official transition for the Town of Peace River to a new garbage collection contractor – Prairie Disposal.
Residents should have already received their new Prairie Disposal bins and are asked to begin using them immediately. Those who have not yet received a bin are asked to contact 780-624-3388 to arrange delivery.
For households still waiting for their old GFL bins to be collected, the town advises leaving them out until crews retrieve them.
Municipal officials reminds that collection days and waste disposal rules will remain unchanged.
The Town of Peace River says the contractor switch is expected to save approximately $10,000 per year.
