  1. High Level RCMP have one in custody on drug charges.
    On Wednesday, Police executed a warrant on two units of an apartment complex, and caught up with the suspect, who couldn’t escape.
  2. High Level police are looking for assistance in an armed robbery investigation.
    In mid-November, the cops responded to a robbery at knife-point at the Circle K on 97th street.
  3. An agreement in principal has been reached by Canada Post and its Union.
    As part of the deal, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers pause all strike-action, while Canada Post suspends any lockout measures.
  4. Health-Care workers in Alberta have reached a tentative agreement with the Provincial Government.
    The proposed contract includes a 12% wage increase over four years, along with market adjustments and retroactive compensation.
  5. The start of the ski season officially happened over the weekend in Peace River.
    The Misery Mountain Truck Raffle was drawn, and Cameron Johnson walked away with the truck, valued at over $75,000.
    Gilbert and Chantel Dubois won $5,000, and Brandon Cotton walked away with $1,000.
  6. Alberta municipalities are making a formal call for the provincial government to expand police services in rural and remote areas.
    It was brought forward after concerns about rural crime were raised by Albertans living in such communities.
  7. It’s pretty much must-wins for Nampa’s Kayla Skrlik at the Canadian Olympic Curling trials in Halifax.
    Skrlik is 1-2, and is playing Kate Cameron of Manitoba this afternoon. The top three get into Thursday’s playoff round.
  8. Seven games in the NHL today, but only one Canadian team is in action. Ottawa is in Los Angeles.
  9. The NFL Monday-nighter is Carolina at San Fransisco. The Panthers are 6-5, the 49ers are 7-4.
  10. Sunny skies, but cooler temperatures, are in store for the Northwest for the first half of this week.
    High are around -5 this afternoon, but will get cooler as the week rolls along. Lows tonight will be chilly, at around -15.
    The Mackenzie might see some snow on Wednesday night.
