On November 19, 2025, High Level RCMP arrested 32-year-old resident Yahya Ahmed during a suspected drug transaction.
Ahmed attempted to flee and resisted arrest but was apprehended, back in June.
A search incidental to his arrest uncovered approximately 65 grams of cocaine.
Subsequent search warrants executed at two units in a local apartment complex, with assistance from the RCMP Western Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit, led to the seizure of 32 oxycodone tablets, over 100 grams of cannabis, and drug-trafficking paraphernalia.
Ahmed faces multiple charges, including trafficking cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking, possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling, and resisting a police officer.
He was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in High Level on December 8, 2025.
Staff Sergeant Devron Dittmer commended the RCMP members for their dedication to community safety and thanked residents for their support, emphasizing the positive impact of the operation on multiple communities.
