La Crete’s Cole Penner is making an impact in his first season in the AJHL.
Penner plays for the Grande Prairie Storm and says there’s some parts of his game that he has been working on.
“As long as you work hard, results will come and I think I’ve done that so far. There’s not a lot of time and space here in this league so I think the quicker you get your shot off, the more goals you’ll probably have. That’s something I’ve been working really hard on lately.”
Penner spent last season with the La Crete Lumber Barons where he won the NWJHL’s rookie of the year award.
He says there’s been a few people who have been helpful in his career.
“Earlier on when I was younger, it was always my parents providing for me and sacrificing a lot to take me to games. Also Dion Knelsen, the coach of the Lumber Barons, I think has really developed me in the last few years to become the player I am today.”
