Alberta’s government is taking significant steps to combat gender-based violence through its 10-year strategy, “Building on our Strengths.”
As part of this initiative, the province has allocated $1.25 million to the Community Pathways to Justice grant program.
This funding aims to enhance access to justice and provide survivor-centered services by supporting community-based organizations.
For the 2025-26 fiscal year, 18 organizations across Alberta have been selected to receive grants ranging from $50,000 to $150,000.
These grants will fund programs focusing on victim support, education and awareness, legal navigation, system coordination, and restorative justice.
Minister of Justice and Attorney General Mickey Amery emphasized the government’s commitment, stating, “Our government is pleased to support organizations that are making a meaningful impact in the effort to end gender-based violence, an issue that affects individuals, families, and communities across the province.”
This initiative underscores Alberta’s dedication to preventing harm, holding offenders accountable, and empowering those impacted by gender-based violence.
