  1. RCMP in Fox Lake have arrested three people in connection to a disturbance, back in mid September.
    Alberta Major Crimes took carriage, as 52 year-old Delbert Noskiye of Fort Vermilion, passed away due to injuries, while another person was later discovered to be hurt, but they recovered.
  2. About 51,000 Alberta teachers who walked off the job yesterday morning have been served with a lockout notice.
    School doors across Alberta closed yesterday after the association representing teachers was unable to reach an agreement with employers that teachers would accept.
  3. Some provincial government plans for having seniors pay more for prescription drugs are being criticized by the NDP. (Sarah Hoffman interview in separate story)
  4. 93% of the crops in the Peace region are in the Bin, which is nearly 25 percentage points ahead of average.
    Specifically, Dry Peas are done, Spring Wheat is at 97%, Barley is at 95%, Oats are at 89%, and Canola is at 88%.
  5. Different municipalities have started the process of opening Advanced Polls, ahead of October 20th’s Local elections.
    In the meantime, jurisdictions and Returning Officers are encouraging residents to check Voter Eligability requirements to be allowed to cast a ballot.
  6. MLB Playoffs tonight… Game 3 – Toronto is in New York, the Jays lead 2-0. Shane Bieber starts for the Jays against Carlos Rodon.
    As well, Seattle is in Detroit, the series is tied at one.
  7. NHL tonight… Three games, Chicago is at Florida, Pittsburgh is at the Rangers, and Colorado is at LA.
  8. A mix of Sun and Cloud is scheduled for the Peace and Big Lakes, while rain continues to fall in the Mackenzie.
    Highs this afternoon are mixed, from 17 in the Big Lakes, to 14 in the Peace, to just 8 in the Mackenzie.
