Clear Hills Man given time served
A Clear Hills County man, Luke Anderson, has been sentenced to 90 days in jail, deemed time served, following a May incident in Bluesky, Alberta.
On September 24, Anderson pleaded guilty in Peace court to possession of a prohibited firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm; fourteen other charges were withdrawn.
The charges stemmed from a May 6 report of an assault with a weapon, leading Fairview RCMP to execute a search warrant on May 7.
The search uncovered five firearms—including two sawed-off shotguns—a crossbow, small amounts of drugs, ammunition, and $3,200 in cash.
Charges dropped from incident in Simon Lake
In early September, Alberta Justice withdrew multiple charges against Chaos Daryl Ghostkeeper in Peace River court.
These charges included assault with weapon, pointing a firearm, and robbery with a firearm.
Ghostkeeper was arrested on January 29 near Simon Lake after police responded to reports of a suspicious person hiding in a vacant.
The Peace Regional RCMP reported that the suspect initially refused to comply with police orders and was subsequently apprehended with the assistance of police dog Peyak.
