- RCMP in Fox Lake are reporting a suspicious death from Wednesday morning.The cops were called out to people causing a disturbance, and located an injured male.
The man was transported to hospital, but died of his injuries. - The cops in Peace River are looking for the culprits of a B&E to a business in Simon Lake, early Tuesday morning.
That business on Hwy 986, at the turnoff to Simon Lake, was also on fire several minutes later.
Police have learned that at least two suspects broke through the front windows and progressed inside, stealing items from inside the business, before lighting it on fire. - The Peace River Area Monitoring Program is in the process of re-locating its Air Quality monitoring station to the Peace River area, after being in Grimshaw for the past 2 1/2 years. - Energy Alberta is hosting Community Engagement sessions to have the public provide more feedback and ask more questions.
The meetings start on Monday in Peace River and work around the region. - Fall Clean-up is happening in the Peace Region for the next couple of weeks.
In Peace River, Curbside clean-up runs starting on Monday for large items of residential utility customers.
Large items need to be at the front of your property by 7am on Monday for collection.
Fridges, freezers and A/C units must be tagged refrigerant-free by a certified technician, and items must not exceed 3 metres in length or 200 pounds. - Gord Drummond, the owner/operator of Tim Horton’s in Peace River, High Prairie, Fairview and Valleyview, starts up the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru.

- Mainly Sunny skies are in store for this weekend in the Northwest. Temperatures are in the 20’s during the day, but will coll off a little by Sunday.
Lows at night will be in the upper single digits. However, still not much of a chance of rain being seen for the next little while.
