It was a chance for small area firefighters to gain hands-on training, and knowledge.
Many departments in Northern Alberta attended the Northern HEAT Conference and Fire Training in Peace River last week.
Over 60 firefighters were present during two days of training, and two days of presentations.
Fire Chief Jason Cottingham in Big Lakes County says it may feel like a vacation, but he feels like two years of training is learned in four days of the Conference.
He also says that the opportunity to do this close to home is tremendous.
