
On Tuesday, September 10th, the Town of Peace River will host a meaningful evening of remembrance, connection, and hope in of World Suicide Prevention Day. The community is invited to gather at Riverfront Park starting at 5 pm for public event aimed at awareness, supporting mental health, and honouring the lives of those lost to suicide.
The World Suicide Prevention Day Gathering will feature a variety of activities designed to foster connection and healing. Attendees can explore local mental health resources, enjoy live music, and hear an inspiring keynote address from Laverne Friesen, host of the True Emotion Dad podcast.
A candlelight vigil will take place at 8 pm to remember loved ones and reflect in a shared moment of silence and support. The event is free and open to all.
World Suicide Prevention Day, observed annually on September 10th, aims to raise awareness that suicide is preventable and to promote worldwide action to prevent suicides.
