Pre-Employment: Pre-employment programs at Northern Lakes College provide the skill set needed to enter the workforce and become an apprentice. Learn first year apprenticeship theory, receive your safety tickets, and obtain on the job training. NLC offers Pre-Employment Carpenter and Welder at the High Level campus and Pre-Employment Pipe Trades, Heavy Equipment Technician, Industrial Mechanic and Electrician face to face at select campuses with student housing available in Slave Lake and Wabasca.
University Studies: At Northern Lakes College, you can get a university-level education right from your home community! With programs offered through Supported Distance Learning, you can earn university credits towards an NLC certificate or diploma, the University of Calgary Community-Based Bachelor of Education, or other degree programs at many post-secondary institutions across Alberta.
CAEC Program: The G.E.D. has been replaced with the Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC). This high-quality, made-in-Canada credential is designed for adults without a High School Diploma seeking to unlock new educational and employment opportunities. Northern Lakes College offers CAEC testing at select campuses.
