  1. From the RCMP’s Weekly Wanted File, police are looking for Nathan William Chessie.
    His last known whereabouts was in Valleyview, and is noted for activities in Ardossan, Valleyview, Sexsmith and Bezanson.
  2. The Peace River School Division updated their proceedings on a few projects.
    The Board has declared Dixonville School as surplus, which means the declaration of the Dixonville Charter School Society’s expression of interest in the future utilization of the building and property, will be taken into consideration, but the Division makes the decision.
  3. The PRSD Board will be arranging a community engagement session in Fairview, regarding viable options for the future of public school buildings.
  4. The PRSD Board has stated the construction of the new school in Red Earth Creek has been delayed. No timeline has been given for resumption of proceedings.
  5. AFSC’s Meals in the Field promotion is accepting nominations for their prize pack, which included a meal, entertainment, and prizes. (Carmen Pezderic interview in separate story)
  6. Main training camp starts tomorrow for the North Peace Navigators of the NWJHL.
    The Navs are looking to gain momentum after a below-500 campaign in 2025, where they won 15 of their 40 games.
  7. The Toronto Blue Jays have the day off today before starting a weekend set with Milwaukee at Roger’s Center.
    The Jays took two of three from Minnesota, and are 4 games up on Boston for first in the AL East, with less than 30 games to go.
  8. Heat Warnings are continuing to be in place for the Northwest for the rest of this week.
    Highs during the day are in the low 30’s, but lows at night are comfortable in the low teens. Digits start cooling down by Sunday.
