- Riverfront Park is back open today, after a targeted incident happened early yesterday morning.
Authorities say that Alberta Major Crimes was en route to Peace River to take carriage. - The Peace Regional Waste Management Company says paving at the front of the Eco Center will be happening for the rest of this week.
The Eco Center will be closed today, tomorrow, and possibly Friday for all residents, and all through-traffic. - The Town of Peace River is asking for continued patience in the eventual clean-up of Juliette’s place downtown.
Officials say the tax recovery process is nearing completion, after which clean-up and re-development can take place. - Alberta on the Plate is is being served this week, with local ingredients on the menu. (Rheannon Green interview in separate story)
- The 9-a-side High School football leagues that Peace River, High Prairie and Valleyview are in, will stay in the Mighty Peace Division, but it’s one of three divisions for this year, compared to two in 2024.
Peace River won the provincial 9-a-side championship, defeating Ponoka in the freezing snow in Grande Prairie in 2024. - Wheatbelt baseball League final tonight… The resumption of Game 2, Rycroft is in Peace River in the top of the 7th inning.
The Game is tied 1-1. First pitch is 7:00 at the Ski Hill. If Peace River wins, the series will start Game 4 right after… If Rycroft wins, The Rage win their 9th League championship in the last 15 seasons. - The Toronto Blue Jays play the second of a three-game set tonight at home to the Chicago Cubs.
