  1. Peace Regional police have a man in custody on robbery charges. 37 year-old Jayson Ryan Arndt of St. Isadore faces numerous accusations.
  2. The trial of a former school division employee has been scheduled for just before Christmas in Peace River. In June 2023, McLennan RCMP received a report of offenses involving a youth.
  3. Ratings are slightly improved, as they reached 25%, in good to excellent condition. Sub-surface moisture is also slightly up to 35%, in good to excellent condition.
    Both percentages are still well below the 5 and 10-year averages.
  4. Residents in the Berwyn area are invited to share feedback with Village Council. The Public meeting is tonight at 6:00 at the Agriculture Hall.
  5. The Town of Peace River is overhauling its Land-Use Bylaw, and wants the public’s feedback. A public hearing is being held this afternoon at 5:00 in Council Chambers.
  6. In the Wheatbelt Baseball League… Game 3 – Peace River is in Rycroft, but the Rage only lead 1-0.
    Game 2 was suspended last week due to darkness, so that will be completed on Wednesday in Peace River.
    If necessary, Game 4 will be played following the completion of Game 2.
  7. The Toronto Blue Jays have the day off today to get home and start a three-game set at Rogers Center against the Cubs tomorrow.
  8. The Hlinka-Gretzky hockey tournament starts today in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
    Canada has won the gold medal at this U18 tournament for the past three years. They’re in a round robin group with Finland, Switzerland and the Czechs.
    The US, Sweden, Slovakia and Germany make up the other group.
  9. A mostly sunny afternoon is in store for the Northwest. Highs are in the mid 20’s with lows tonight in the mid teens.
    Things will begin to cool off, starting tomorrow, and will get wet by the afternoon, and into Wednesday. Temps will stay in the teens from Wednesday through the weekend.
