The Town of Falher is set to commence a full replacement of the rubber padding at the Water Play Park.
Over the years, patch repairs have been made, but the pad has continued to degrade, leading to water seeping underneath and separating it from the concrete base.
Recognizing that ongoing patch repairs are merely a temporary solution, the Town Council has approved a complete pad replacement as part of the 2025 budget.
The project involves removing the existing pad and installing a new 1-inch layer of rubber, composed of 50% blue and 50% black pellets.
This color scheme aims to reduce UV degradation of the epoxy sealant.
Work is scheduled to begin in mid-August, with an estimated cost of $43,800 plus GST.
