Provincial investments going into classrooms

alberta-government-5

Alberta’s government is investing $50 million this fall to add 62 modular classrooms to address growing student enrollment.

This comes as part of a broader $100 million commitment to deliver 109 new modular classrooms, creating space for over 2,700 students.

Education Minister Demetrios Nicolaides says the investment will help ease pressure on some of the province’s busiest schools while more than 130 new school projects are underway.

Additionally, $1 million will go toward advancing four new charter schools, adding over 2,400 spaces.

Alberta’s Schools Now program, which is part of an $8.6 billion initiative, will help create more than 200,000 new student spaces over seven years.
