- Investigations are underway into a house fire at Shaftesbury Estates, early this morning. One house was destroyed, another was damaged, and no injuries were reported.
- High Prairie RCMP have made an arrest in homicide case in Atikameg. 44 year-old Rodney Nahachick and a 15 year-old youth were arrested for second degree murder
- Charges against Evan Anderson have been dropped, after police tried to pull over a vehicle that went through a Stop sign, and driving into oncoming traffic,
- Major Crops and soil moisture still well below averages in Peace Region. Many jurisdictions in the Northwest have already declared Agricultural disasters.
- Rodeo season in the Northwest is continuing with the start of the 63rd High Prairie Elk’s Pro Rodeo. (Lindsay Pratt interview in separate story)
- Alberta and the union representing thousands of government employees say they have agreed to a new round of mediated bargaining.
- The Toronto Blue Jays play two today in Baltimore. Easton Lucas is starting Game 1, while Eric Lauer starts Game 2 for the Jays.
- The Baseball world is mourning the loss of a Hall of Famer. Ryne Sandberg passed away from cancer at home yesterday, he was 65 years of age.
