- A time period of remand has been handed to man, after a shooting death in Cadotte Lake.
Brenon Gray was given a life sentance, with no parole for at least a dozen years in the case. - Mackenzie County has joined the growing list of jurisdictions to declare an Agricultural disaster.
The County joins the MD of Fairview, the County of Grande Prairie, Saddle Hills County and the MD of Greenview in the Northwest to put the measures in place. - Partners of the Lubicon Lake band have come together to start building the new teacherages on the Reserve.
The end project will see 25 new teacherages being built to be completed by the fall of 2026. - Restrictions on water use in McLennan has been lifted.
Restrictions were put in place a-week-and-a-half ago, because of work being done on the Water Treatment Plant. - Alberta Health Services is temporarily limiting visitors in cancer facilities due to the measles outbreak in the province.
The health agency says it’s intended to protect the most vulnerable hospitalized patients during the outbreak while maintaining family-centred care. - The province could soon be charging people to use boats in Alberta’s waterways.
The government is considering an annual pass for boats, jet skis, canoes, kayaks and other watercraft.
It says all the money would go towards increasing defences against invasive mussels. - Wheatbelt Baseball League finals start tonight with Peace River in Rycroft, 7:15 at JD Park. Game 2 is Wednesday August 6th in Peace River.
The series is delayed, as both teams are participating in a tournament in Lac La Biche on the August long weekend. - The Toronto Blue Jays start a 4-games-in-three days series in Baltimore tonight. Chris Bassitt starts for the Jays against Zack Eflin.
- Mother Nature is bringing the Heat… This afternoon will be comfortable under a mix of sun and cloud, with highs in the low 20’s.
Tonight will be clear and comfortable with lows in the upper single-digits. Tomorrow, will start the heatwave, with highs in the upper 20’s, and into the 30’s by Wednesday.
The warmth lasts for the rest of the week.
