  1. The town of Peace River is conducting a survey regarding Public Security.
    One specific question being asked is “What would you pay in property taxes for security services in Peace River”?
    Hard Copies of the Survey can be picked up at various venues around town, or through a link on the town’s Facebook Page.
  2. Peace River Town Council has given unanimous support to have the Sub-Zero Skateway built for this winter.
    PR Rotaract says that the facility will be built in the North End.
  3. Snow Fest is happening this weekend at Misery Mountain Ski Resort, with some new features, and a new vehicle on the line.
    The event is a fundraiser for the operations of the resort, plus new equipment that is coming in. (Chris Johnson Interview on App)
  4. Alberta’s respiratory virus tracker shows lab-confirmed COVID cases have nearly doubled since September.
    Almost 1400 people have been hospitalized with the virus and 136 people have died. Doctors are expecting further strain when the flu virus starts spreading in Alberta.
  5. Alberta has launched a new online portal aimed at reducing housing construction delays.
    The new Stop Housing Delays portal gives developers and local governments a space to report red tape and what they perceive as unnecessary building delays.

  9. Flurries are still in the forecast for the bulk of the day today in the Northwest. Highs are below zero this afternoon.
    The clouds will start to thin out tonight and into tomorrow, with lows in the mid single-digits below zero.
