The RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit is looking into a murder in the High Prairie area. The High Prairie detachment received a call on Sunday morning at around 7:00 of a body found on the road on the Atikameg First Nation. The 35-year-old male was confirmed deceased as soon as the Mounties arrived.
Several units were on the scene to investigate including: including Peace River Forensic Identification Section, Grande Prairie Police Dog Services, and the General Investigation Section. An autopsy was conducted in Edmonton yesterday and results indicated the man’s death was a homicide.
The Major Crimes Unit continues to investigate and has no further details at this time.
