The Mackenzie County has issued a notice effective immediately The Tompkins Ice Bridge capacity has decreased to a maximum of 40 tonnes.
Mackenzie County CAO, Leonard Racher says it is that time of year again.
“It isn’t so much the water on top of the ice, it’s the actual ice that is constructed so we lose the capacity for the bridge to hold weight.”
The change will remain until further notice.
