Slave Lake RCMP traffic stop leads to drug seizure

On January 28th, Slave Lake RCMP were conducting patrols in areas of Slave Lake where it’d been known an increase in crime and victimization was occurring. Officers observed a suspicious vehicle, a white Sedan, which had been reported stolen in Drayton Valley earlier that day.

A traffic stop allowed RCMP to arrest the four occupants of the car, and conducted a search of the interior of the car. Inside, officers located methamphetamine, cocaine, oxycontin and Canadian currency.

Further investigation lead to the execution of a search warrant on a Slave Lake residence on January 29th, where an additional seizure of illegal drugs was conducted.

The estimated ‘street value’ of the seized drugs is in excess of $80,000.

29 year-old Braden Foster, 21 year-old Savannah Radcliff, and 25 year-old Tessa Dunsmore, all of Slave Lake, and 24 year-old Paige Ziegler of Drayton Valley were charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime, and other Criminal Code offences.

Foster and Radcliff are to appear in Slave Lake Provincial Court on February 12th.  Dunsmore and Ziegler are to appear in Slave Lake Provincial Court on March 4th.
