Rycroft’s state of local emergency officially ends

RYCROFT– The state of local emergency has officially ended in The Village of Rycroft as of this morning, though the boil water advisory will remain until test results allow it to be removed.

The village’s water treatment plant has resumed normal operations as of yesterday, and crews will continue to monitor water pressure and quality. Water pressure in the distribution system, as well as the consumption numbers at the water treatment plant maintain normal levels.

Water samples have been collected and are being delivered to Edmonton for testing. Rycroft says that once the samples reach Edmonton, it may take up to 48 hours or more for testing to take place, and for the results to return to the village.

Crews are monitoring the levels at the plant today, in addition to beginning clean-up operations.
