PRSD seeking school trustee nominations ahead of Ward 4 by-election

PEACE RIVER — The Peace River School Division’s Ward 4 has zero nominations for a school board trustee position as it heads into the by-election.

The division iterates that a potential candidate does not need a background in education, saying the nominee “needs to be passionate about serving students, community and have an interest and willingness to learn.”

School board trustees are advocates for children and education, who are responsible for setting policies that the division and its school will operate, and to provide education for its students.

PRSD Ward 4 covers the Town of Peace River, rural Peace River, Grimshaw, and Shaftesbury.

Nominations for the Ward 4 by-election have been extended to April 16, and will be accepted from 10 a.m to 12 p.m every weekday at the PRSD central office, located 10018 – 100 Street in Peace River.

More information can be found on the PRSD website or by phoning the division at 780-624-3601.
