The Tim Hortons Athlete of the Month for October is Peace River’s Brody Bandurka.
Brody was nominated for his impressive accomplishments as a miniature bull rider, which include being a Junior Nationals Rodeo world finalist in Las Vegas for mini bareback. He also placed 3rd in Alberta for junior bull riding for Junior High School Rodeo.
Brody says he got his start in rodeo when he was six. He notes that one of his favourite things about rodeo is how competitive it can be, and that one of his role models is Ty Pozzobon. Aside from rodeo, Brody plays hockey and baseball.
In September, Brody headed south to Oklahoma to represent Canada and Peace River at the Miniature Bullriding International Finals for the second year in a row. Brody qualified for the short go at the IMBA World Finals, which also qualified him for the IMBA Shootout in Las Vegas.
You can keep up with Brody, and find the results of the Miniature Bullriding International Finals on his Facebook page here.
Congratulations, Brody, and good luck with all of your future rodeos.
