This weekend there are a couple movies getting wide releases in the Diney/Pixar family film Onward, and Emma which is an adaption of the Jane Austen novel by the same name. Heading into the weekend I expect Onward to win the box office taking the title from The Invisible Man. You can check out the trailers and synopsis of each movie below. As always check your local theatres for showtiems and movie availability.
Onward is a Disney/Pixar family film about Two teenage elf brothers, Ian and Barley Lightfoot, go on an journey to discover if there is still a little magic left out there in order to spend one last day with their father, who died when they were too young to remember him. The movie boasts an all-star voice cast with Tom Holland, Chris Pratt, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Octavia Spencer just to name a few.
Emma is the adaption from Jane Austen’s novel by the same name which follows the antics of a young woman, Emma Woodhouse, who lives in Georgian- and Regency-era England and occupies herself with matchmaking – in sometimes misguided, often meddlesome fashion- in the lives of her friends and family. The movie unlike Onward doesn’t boast an all-star cast of well know Hollywood talent, but Jane Austen’s work has translated very well onto the big screen over the years.
