High Level RCMP have made an arrest following the homicide that took place in the town Friday afternoon.
At 3 pm on Friday, RCMP responded to a report that a man had been shot near the Maple Ridge Suites. The man, later identified as Nathan Kim, succumbed to his injuries before the police arrived. After questioning numerous people in the area near the shooting, the High Level police made an arrest on August 10th.
18-year-old Jesse Beckles of High Level was arrested in connection to the shooting. Beckles is facing charges of first degree murder, and has been remanded into police custody. He is scheduled to appear in High Level provincial court on August 26th. The matter is now before the courts, so no more information will be provided.
The investigation is still ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information on Beckles or Kim to please come forward, and contact them at 780-926-2226.
