Mackenzie County following the recommendations of Alberta Health Services on COVID-19

Like all other lower-tier governments around the province, Mackenzie County is following the guidelines of other counties, districts, and towns.

No closures of facilities within the county have been announced yet.

However, Reeve Josh Knelsen says this top message to the community is not to panic.

“Keep calm,” says Knelsen. “If you see a roll of toilet paper on the self, it is okay to leave it there for somebody else that may need it.”

“We don’t have to make sure the shelves are bare.”

He adds that county officials are constantly keeping up to date on the latest announcements and updates from the federal and provincial governments.

Knelsen suggests people do what they would normally do if they are not feeling well.

“Just like any other day, if you are not feeling 100 percent, it is not a bad idea to stay at home, but other than that, keep on doing what you need to do.”
