Effective today, Mackenzie County closed their offices, as well as facilities, to the public. In an email to the Trending 55 Newsroom, the county stated that the closure was because ‘the health and safety of our staff, customers, and communities are our first priority’, as to limit the spread of COVID-19.
Office services can be accessed through calling the county’s phone lines. Much like other towns who’ve closed today, payment services can be accessed through the respective phone line for a county within the town, or through electronic means.
The closure will not affect services such as road maintenance, or water and wastewater services.
Those with questions in the La Crete area can contact the office at (780) 928 3983, those in the Zama area can contact the office at (780) 683 2277, and those in the Fort Vermillion area can contact the office at (780) 927 3718.
The county states that they are working to ensure the best interest of their staff, and are trying to make sure that staff are still able to serve residents throughout the duration of the pandemic.
