This weekend is the big Labour Day long weekend, which means people and families have one big last weekend before school starts and celebrate the end of summer vacation, but it also means rivalry weekend in the CFL known as the Labour Day Classic. These games are the Blue Bombers vs Rough Riders, The Battle of the QEW Argonauts vs Tiger Cats and last but not least the Battle of Alberta Eskimos vs Stampeders. This is known as the turning point in the CFL season where they have hit the half way point and begin the homestretch for the playoffs.
The games taking place on the Labour Day weekend make them even more fun for the fans, and the most fun from personal experience to attend is the one in Saskatchewan, though I have yet to experience it in the new stadium. This year the Riders vs Bombers and the Battle of Alberta have huge simplifications on the standings, and with the Bombers without their starting quarterback and running back out the first place team in danger of losing their lead in the standings. The Riders, Eskimos and Stampeders are neck and neck making this weekend and next highly important.
