High Prairie Airport Re-Opened

The renovations are now completed at the High Prairie Airport.

Some of the upgrades include LED lighting, a 120 metre runway extension and a wider access road from Highway 749.

The runway now measures 4,324 feet.

It can now safely accommodate larger aircrafts such as the Learjet 35A and Medevac.

Big Lakes County spent over $700,000 in the renovations.

Although the runway extension is complete, the County is waiting for Nav Canada’s approval to open the extension for landing.
