Two men will be in provincial court in High Level on April 6 to answer to charges of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

The High Level RCMP stopped a vehicle within town limits on February 19.

Further investigation by officers led to the arrest of a 23-year old man from Brooks, and a 64-year old male from the Northwest Territories.

Following a search of the vehicle, police seized 1.3 kilograms of cocaine, an ounce of Khat, drug paraphernalia and packaging.

The High Level detachment believes that these drugs were destined for towns throughout the Northwest Territories, including Yellowknife and Hay River.

Both men were released on an undertaking with conditions to appear in court.
