High Level’s newest RCMP Staff Sargent is looking forward to keeping the town more up-to-date when it comes to police statistics and fighting crime. Sargent Dennis Belaronde started with the High Level detachment in August and spoke to town council at its November 25th meeting. He spoke to council about communication issues between the municipality and the local detachment. “It was pretty much one-sided,” says Belaronde. “It was a lack of communication on my end and I addressed it with council as I am new to High Level.”
Belaronde says he will change the way the station provides updates to High Level in the future. “Rather than give a monthly statistical report, I am going to do a narrative report, which will be in conjunction with our crime reduction report,” mentions Belaronde. “On a quarterly basis, we will do a statistical report, which is a little more in-depth.”
