If people in the Peace Region are looking to stay active, a local entrepreneur says it is easy to do, even with the COVID-19 pandemic affecting every aspect of our lives.

Carmen Gauvreau is the Owner of Fitness on the Go in Peace River and she says there are ways residents in the region can maintain their physical activity.

“We know there is social distancing right now, but if you are walking, running, just doing something, that’s great,” says Gauvreau.

“Just get out and get active because you need it mentally as well as physically. We don’t need to be inside staring at our walls; just get up and go and have some laughs with a friend.”

The gym, like many other businesses, has been forced to close its doors to the public due to Alberta Health Services guidelines.

Gauvreau says they are putting videos on the company’s Facebook page so people can get some recommendations for their workout routines.

“There are spinning videos for people to see, or they can head to my personal page because I don’t know what type of equipment people have at home,” states Gauvreau.

“I have been putting up some videos of lightweight and body weight workouts so hopefully people will be inspired, and hopefully a few laughs along the way, which is really important during this time.”
