A good effort from the Navs as the Jr. Canucks take the win

In their second home game against the Dawson Creek Junior  Canucks, the  North Peace Navigators found themselves falling behind, 5-4 despite a good effort. Assistant coach Jody Mensaa, recapped the game with us, commenting on how the Navs had a couple turnovers which the Jr. Canucks capitalized on.

Menssa commended the Navs for a good game, and a job well done by his goaltenders.

The game was filled with aggressive moves, and a strong, loud crowd cheering the Navs on with each attempt and goal.  Particularly in the 3rd period, as the two teams really battled it out to see who would come out on top.

Peace River Broadcasting asked  Menssa what it is he says to his team after a loss where they have spent most of their game chasing their opponent. He stresses “when you’ve got two good teams battling, the team that makes the most mistakes is going to lose. I ask them to remember what it feels like.” He adds that they will be playing the Jr. Canucks a number of times after tonight, saying, “next time we play these guys, we will come out and put on a better show.”

Honourable mentions for tonight, are Captain, Calvin Sanders, who scored twice with one of them being on the power play. Robert LeMay assisted on 3 of the 4 goals.
