4 people charged in Valleyview after $31K in drugs seized by RCMP

VALLEYVIEW– Valleyview RCMP have charged four people with drug-related offenses after executing a search warrant.

Town police received multiple calls of break and enters during the winter of 2019. Officers conducted a search of a Valleyview residence on April 12th, and as a result of the search, $31, 000 in drugs were seized, in addition to weapons and a stolen item.

 

 

The drugs discovered during the search were:

  • 99 grams of methamphetamine
  • 227 grams of MDMA
  • 0.24 grams of cocaine
  • 18 grams of fentanyl

Walter Cory Wilson (33), Jeremy Engels (42), Travis Bartlett (32), Lyanna Hamelin (37) have all been charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of MDMA for the purpose of trafficking, possession of controlled substance (cocaine) and possession of a prohibited device. Additionally, Bartlett was charged with possession of fentanyl in the purpose of trafficking, while Hamelin was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

Wilson faces several more charges related to the break and enters the RCMP were investigating, including:

  • Break and enter to commit theft at A&W in Valleyview
  • Break and enter to commit theft at Shell liquor store in Valleyview
  • Break and enter with intent at Captain Pizza in Valleyview
  • Possession of break and entering tools x3
  • Disguised with intent x3
  • Possession of stolen property over $5000.00
  • Mischief under $5000.00
